Simple Girl Cooks: Breakfast Bites

I saw this on Pinterest and decided to give it a try! I lined the muffin tin with a strip of bacon and filled it in with pre-scrambled eggs (Southwest style) and baked on 400 for about 40 minutes. I think next time I'll try it with turkey bacon to make it a little healthier!

Simple Girl Cooks: Shrimp Pasta

I have never claimed to be a great cook. I mostly cook for myself, and sometimes for my friends and family. Nothing spectacular, but always simple and (usually) tasty!
The other night, I decided to make some shrimp pasta. I had the shrimp and veggies already in my freezer, and picked up some rotini pasta for just $1.00 a box and a carton of Philly cooking cream for $2.50! It made a quick and thrifty meal!

Did You Know? If you place a wooden spoon on top of a pot, it can't boil over? It really works!

DIY: Bikini Cookies & Hawaiian Party

A couple weekends ago, I planned a surprise birthday party with a Hawaiian theme! Of course, I consulted fellow scrappers and Pinterest thoroughly before heading to the party store and the dollar store for supplies! I bought leis, bamboo, streamers, lots of fruit and grass skirts! Besides a cake, I decided to make bikini cookies for the occasion!

Road Trip: Michaels

Earlier this week, I got to take a little road trip with a brief visit to one of my favorite places in the world! I think I spent a record 30 minutes in there (I've timed my longest shopping time at over 4 hours!) and I only spent $15, although I spent a good long time looking at some Project 365 type products wishing I had more space and time to paper scrap again!

Books I'm Reading

I made a goal for 2013, that I would read a new book for each new movie I watched. I knew this was a lofty goal to make, and so far I'm 9 vs 5, but that's probably still 5 more books than I managed to read in 2012! My objective in making this goal was to read more, and it's working.

Here are some more books that I plan to read this year (plus more that are on my KOBO e-reader!) I've got a mix of business, inspirational and pure fiction to read.
